One “Main” Reason to Pay Attention to LSS Updates: Lincoln Street Construction is Returning

water20picThe following text is an email sent by Exeter’s Assistant Town Engineer, Jennifer Mates.  It introduces the Lincoln Street neighborhood to the upcoming spring construction to our area.  Similar to the fall, this construction will impact our traffic patterns, and all involved will do their best to accommodate for our day-to-day routines.  We will learn more about the project over time, but I wanted to be sure everyone was aware as soon as possible.

Spring is almost here, which means construction season is, too. The Lincoln/Winter Street utility improvement project is scheduled to begin March 28th. A public information is being held on Wednesday, March 16th at 6:30 pm in the Nowak Room at Town Office, 10 Front St. We will be discussing the project schedule, water service interruptions, and traffic control.  Attached are the public meeting notice and a map showing the work area. Please feel free to share these.
This part of the project involves setting up temporary water while the existing water main is replaced, which reduces the potential for unplanned water service interruptions.  Homes or businesses served by temporary water will have their water meters disabled while the temporary water service is connected.
[Ms. Mates] will resume posting updates to the Town website and DPW Facebook page on Fridays throughout the project.
