We Can Plant A Forest

IMG_1494.JPGThank you Mr. Peter Waltz, for your visit late last week to our school.  As a representative of the Exeter Conservation Commission and in celebration of Earth Day to encourage stewardship of our natural resources, he and the commission distributed balsam fir trees to our 5th graders.  This is a task he has been devoted to completing for Lincoln Street School students for over 30 years.

To the left is a picture of Sarah Bartell, who received a sprig at LSS in 5th grade 15 years ago. That is what the tree looks like today!  If our current 5th graders take care of their saplings in the same way she did, their trees could look equally beautiful and our town will reap the benefits of a greener environment for years to come.
